Workshops
This two-day workshop teaches participants a simple yet effective four-step plan for writing letters, reports, and e-mail. Participants apply what they learn in class to sample documents, as well as to their own documents. Each participant meets individually with the instructor to address personal writing concerns, questions, and documents.
This two-day workshop is designed to equip participants to give better, clearer, and more effective presentations that meet the listeners' needs. Participants deliver five videotaped presentations and receive immediate feedback from peers and instructor after each presentation.
This half-day workshop answers common questions participants have about e-mail. It includes information about how to get people to read what you send, how to decide which readers to include on the To, Cc, and Bcc lines, how to organize your message, how to efficiently handle e-mail you receive, and what etiquette to apply.
Instead of covering everything there is to know about grammar, this one-day workshop focuses on what’s essential for communicating correctly in today’s world. From parts of speech to punctuation, from misused words to incorrect verbs, from passive voice to past tense, this fun and informative grammar review will immediately improve your writing and editing.
Studies tell us that most people spend more time listening than they do writing or presenting. Yet few people ever receive any training on how to listen well. In this half-day workshop, participants will identify distractions, discover ways to limit those distractions, learn active-listening skills, and take time to practice those skills in class.
Many people feel they could accomplish more at work if they didn’t have to attend so many meetings! This half-day workshop is designed to teach participants how to make meetings productive instead of time-consuming. It will cover setting goals, creating agendas, inviting the right people, and clarifying the path forward.
A supervisor’s success is measured by the results of other people. Most of this success is dependent on his or her ability to communicate clear messages to employees. This one-day workshop teaches supervisors to be clear and specific in setting goals, agreeing on job-performance expectations, and giving feedback to their employees.
This one-day course is for anyone who needs help managing time at work. Instead of working frantically from crisis to crisis, time management teaches people to work systematically throughout their day. This course balances knowledge of time management with activities to apply that knowledge.
